To formally launch the digital ID, the Ministry of Investment, Innovation and Social Development has made two Legislative Bills available for public comment.
The Bills will be read in the December 2022 session of Parliament.

Cayman Islands Identification Card
The Cayman Islands Identification Card will be a government-issued photo ID card, available to every person with the right to reside in the Cayman Islands.
Benefits to residents:
Physical and digital proof of your identity
Apply your digital signature to documents
Verify your digital identity online, and use a QR code to update your information and choose to share information
Digital features of the card facilitate secure identity authentication online, and a qualified digital signature that adheres to EU standards.

An official database of all persons with the right to reside in the Cayman Islands containing basic identity information and a unique identification code.
Benefits to residents of the Cayman Islands:

- Visibility and transparency: see which entity has accessed your information
The Identification Register will be a means for residents of the Cayman Islands to prove their identity, electronically, with a unique identity recorded by the Cayman Islands Government. Residents and businesses will benefit from a country-level identity they can trust, that is secure, authentic, reliable and durable.
